I may post this too late to catch most people, but I'd like to say that...

• Even though I have mostly stayed quiet around here, I have had a blast.

• I'll make one final post tomorrow, the usual Friday blog post announcement.

• I'll download my archive shortly after that final post, and will make it available publicly as I've done with Twitter (I stopped posting before the name change) and Pebble to various degrees of success.

• If anybody wants to track me down in the aftermath, I maintain a full list of active links at my personal website. If you (somehow) feel too impatient to click through and read, you'll probably want to know that Mastodon gets the most activity out of me, though the weirdest of you beloved weirdos will probably prefer the vibe at Cohost.

I regret having to see a site go, especially one so pointlessly torn between trying to build a better online environment and pursuing exponential growth to dominate the market or whatever. I also regret parting with most of you, even though (as mentioned) I've stayed fairly quiet since I spotted that conflict.

Those of you heading off to Bluesky or Threads, best of luck, and unfortunately you couldn't pay me to head back to profit-driven social media...
