@golden_egg @enthusiamy I thought that for a long time, too. But on rewatching, I saw it as Kirk (already progressive) living out how people treat disadvantaged colleagues when they reveal wrongdoing. And other than Shatner's hammy acting, the episode doesn't make Lester wrong, just desperate.

@golden_egg @enthusiamy The most sexist part of the episode is when Scott calls Kirk "hysterical," but they established him a few times (primarily Wolf in the Fold) as a deep misogynist, which I'd argue disqualifies his opinion.
