      @Hectorisfunny Live action adaptations might be relevant, because interpretations are there, just wildly unpopular. "Japanese Spider-Man" is looked at as a joke. CBS's Spider-Man never caught on. Barely anyone remembers the THREE pre-Evans Captains America or the Dr. Strange TV pilot.

    @Hectorisfunny The Bixby/Ferrigno Hulk is an outlier, but mostly, the characters were locked into comics until Sony. That, and I also "blame" Marv Wolfman for trying to establish the idea of "canonical" DC stories with Crisis on Infinite Earths, which...never quite worked.
